Hi, I'm Emily Hawe,
founder of Mind Launchers

There is nothing I love more than helping students reach their full potential.

Over the course of my career as a certified teacher, a college advisor, and an executive function coach, I have seen time and time again that the largest obstacle blocking students from excelling is poor executive function skills.

These are the skills that allow us to plan, pay attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully.

It wasn't until after becoming a teacher and seeing students struggle with these skills that I decided to do a deep dive into the causes and solutions.

I then developed systems for struggling parents and students to positively impact their school experience by learning these executive functioning skills.

I saw clients go from failing classes, to achieving A/B averages and heading off to college.

And now, I’m taking my depth of knowledge on how the brain learns to develop programs that empower students with effective study skills.

In addition to my courses and private coaching work, I am a staff developer for multiple school districts in the NYC metropolitan area. I hold a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration (Pupil Personnel Services) and a Master’s degree in English Education from Teachers College at Columbia University.

WONDERING IF THIS WILL WORK FOR YOUR FAMILY?

IS THIS CHALLENGE FOR WORKING MOMS?
Yes! This challenge is designed for even the busiest of moms (and dads!). The action-steps taught in the emails will take minutes to implement yet they'll transform your family's virtual school experience from frustration to engagement.
IS THIS SUITABLE FOR STUDENTS IN HYBRID OR IN-PERSON SCHOOL?
Yes. All skills learned in this course are lifetime skills that can be used in the standard classroom, the virtual classroom, and beyond. Even if your child is attending in-person school, these skills can easily be applied to homework.
IS THIS CHALLENGE APPROPRIATE FOR MY ADHD CHILD?
Yes. The strategies I will cover are designed to help adapt virtual learning to meet the diverse needs of our children. Children who struggle with attention and executive function skill weaknesses will benefit from the strategies I teach.
WHAT AGE GROUP DOES THIS WORK FOR?
This can work for children in kindergarten through high school. When necessary, tips will be given to adapt strategies to younger children.
WILL THIS REQUIRE PURCHASING EXPENSIVE SUPPLIES?
No. While I sometimes recommend items, I try to include a range of prices, DIY options, and ideas for working with what you already have.
WILL THIS WORK FOR HOMESCHOOLERS?
Yes! This challenge is designed for any child struggling with school at the moment, whether school means the classroom, Zoom room, or dining room.

MARIE T.

mom of a third grader

"I really didn't think we would make it to Thanksgiving, let alone the end of the year doing virtual school. My daughter was miserable. I was miserable. We spent the day yelling at each other and crying (both of us!). Emily helped me make changes quickly to make virtual school work better for her. We have a lot less screaming now."

LAURA H.

mom of a seventh grader

"My son has ADHD, so sitting still for regular school was already a challenge. Having to sit at his computer screen for five hours a day while not playing video games felt impossible. I was constantly having to tell him to go back to his desk. I really don't think he learned anything until I used the strategies Emily taught me."

SONIA L.

mom of a first grader

"Quick and easy to get through the material, which I needed, but wow, what a difference! Thanks!"
